Background

• Mission Hills Country Club (MHCC) and Mission Hills Men’s Golf Association (MHMGA) sponsor two teams for play in different leagues.
• The two teams and Leagues are: SCGA Team (SCGA League), Desert Team (Desert League).
• The SCGA Team plays 3 home and 3 away matches with other SCGA affiliated teams that are located in the Coachella Valley.
• The Desert Team plays 6 matches at various clubs in the Coachella Valley and never at home.
• The Club provides the perpetual David Johnson Memorial Cup (a one-day match play competition between the SCGA and Desert Team) and provides the trophy decal indicating the winners of the intramural match between the two teams.

Purpose of Guidelines

• Both MHCC and the MHMGA encourage team play participation and usually a large number of members are involved.
• Guidelines are provided to establish some structure to the team qualifying and selection process both to maximize member participation and to provide the team captains with the needed flexibility to effectively compete.
